Sorry for the miss!

I understand from the barista that a few people asked after the event last time, I’m so sorry to have missed you. It is indeed the 2nd and 4th Friday nights, the last event was cancelled due to an unavoidable emergency.

There was a problem with our email provider’s server configuration which has since been resolved. If you have used the Silence in the Library contact form, please write us again as the original email was not delivered!

Don’t forget the signs at the table

This venue tends to be busier than the other, people were moving around quite a bit. Consider that if you’re sitting at a table that doesn’t have a Silence / Whispers sign the event coordinator won’t know whether you’re being interrupted and do anything.

Put another way, if you’re deep in your book and some stranger taps on your table to get your attention through your headphones, if you’re not at a Silence table the event coordinator won’t do anything about it.

The coffee’s good, the staff are great, but the noise level is high. Noise cancelling headphones and a pinknoise generator is definitely a good idea.

A good if noisy evening

Checking Things Out

Margie’s closed quite early so I went to John Galt afterwards, they were very busy. Things can get kinda loud, noise-cancelling headphones are strongly recommended.

Like at Margie’s, the staff is happy to host Silence, and will not ask for nor call out your name when your order’s ready, they’ll just quietly leave it on the bar.
